Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Typically requires 14-17 years of relevant experience
- Over 10 years of professional background in systems architecture and design across both hardware and software
- Minimum of 5 years of C development in real-time, embedded, or performance-critical systems
- At least 5 years of C#/.NET development experience with enterprise or distributed transaction systems
- Proven track record of leading or mentoring engineers within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Practical experience in processing high-volume transactional data into relational databases
- Familiarity with socket-based communication, low latency systems, and binary message formats
- Strong expertise in both Linux and Windows environments
- Must possess deep technical knowledge, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to lead in high-performance, high-availability environments
- Demonstrated success in deploying, supporting, and maintaining large-scale, high-availability systems
- Capable of adapting to rapidly shifting priorities while preserving high code quality and reliability
Responsibilities
- Serve in a hands-on and technical leadership capacity in the design, development, and maintenance of vital electronic toll collection (ETC) and roadway transaction processing systems
- Contribute to systems that handle millions of toll transactions, integrating with roadside and back-office platforms, operating continuously for major transport agencies
- Play a crucial role in sustaining existing toll platforms while helping to shape the next generation of scalable, high-performance solutions
- Oversee the architecture, development, enhancement, and operational support of software systems that process and maintain large volumes of tolling and payment data in relational databases
- Collaborate closely with DBAs, system administrators, software engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders, supporting both roadside hardware platforms and modern cloud-ready solutions
- Design, implement, and refine high-performance toll processing and transaction software
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team through active development
- Propose innovative technical solutions and effectively communicate technical recommendations
- Work alongside developers, DBAs, QA engineers, and operations personnel on design improvements and troubleshooting
- Diagnose complex system issues, ascertain root causes, and implement lasting solutions
- Monitor system performance and reliability; proactively identify potential risks and bottlenecks
