Requirements
Must:
- Over 6 years of experience in network, infrastructure, or security engineering roles
- Proficiency with next-generation firewalls and Layer 7 traffic monitoring
- Experience in securing cloud environments and modern infrastructure technologies (virtualization, SaaS, PaaS, containers)
- Practical knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
- Strong grasp of IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT)
- Comprehensive understanding of cryptography principles (TLS/SSL, VPNs, PKI, encryption)
- Awareness of contemporary attack methods (phishing, ransomware, malware, DDoS, MITM, web attacks) and corresponding defensive measures
- Enthusiasm and capability to code or script for automation and operational enhancement
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a global team
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation
- Monitor and assess network traffic to identify threats and unusual activities
- Establish and uphold security standards, policies, and architectures for enterprise networks
- Oversee secure email gateways to fend off phishing, malware, and other email-related threats
- Implement encryption and authentication protocols for email systems
- Deploy and manage endpoint security solutions such as EDR, antivirus, and DLP
- Respond to and resolve endpoint security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and assessment initiatives
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to prioritize remediation based on risk
- Document remediation progress and effectively communicate status
- Implement and sustain security controls across cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Assist in securing cloud infrastructure, applications, and services in hybrid setups
- Contribute to cloud security best practices and guidelines
Description
We are in search of a qualified Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic Information Security team at our offices located in New York, NY or Boston, MA. This on-site role, requiring presence five days a week, focuses on addressing security challenges at an enterprise level within a collaborative team environment. You will engage with various facets of security measures including network, cloud, endpoint, identity, and email security, allowing for broad exposure and opportunities to influence security implementations across the organization.
