Requirements
Must:
- Formal education or certification in software engineering concepts with over 7 years of practical experience
- Proven expertise in mainframe programming languages and tools such as COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and IMS
- Proficient with CICS for online transaction processing
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational reliability
- Skilled in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
- Familiarity with the financial services industry (preferred)
- Exposure to technologies such as MQ, DB2 stored procedures, Java, AWS, and Kafka (preferred)
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Implement software solutions, focusing on design, development, and technical issue resolution, with an innovative mindset for solving complex problems
- Create secure and high-quality production code, while reviewing and debugging the work of others
- Provide regular technical support and guidance to business teams, contractors, and vendors
- Influence decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and operational processes
- Seek ways to eliminate or automate the resolution of recurring issues to boost overall software application stability
- Act as a subject matter expert across one or more focus areas
- Contribute to the engineering community by promoting firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices
- Foster an inclusive team culture that values diversity, opportunity, and respect
