Requirements
Must:
- Over 6 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or management of enterprise systems
- Practical experience migrating workloads from on-premises setups to public cloud environments
- Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine or equivalent migration tools
- Extensive experience with virtual machine environments and enterprise infrastructure
- Background in supporting database migrations during cloud transformation projects
- Strong problem-solving and operational support abilities across compute, storage, and networking
- Capability to collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, application, and database teams during migration planning and execution
Responsibilities
- Implement enterprise migrations of workloads from on-premises setups to Google Cloud Platform
- Migrate virtual machines, infrastructure services, and databases to Google Cloud Platform environments
- Utilize native migration tools, such as Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine, for lift-and-shift migrations from on-premises
- Assist in database migrations with Google Cloud Database Migration Service when applicable
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to confirm migration readiness and ensure effective transitions
- Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting throughout migration processes
- Monitor migration activities and address issues related to performance, connectivity, or system dependencies
- Document migration protocols, runbooks, and operational processes
- Partner with cloud platform teams to ensure migrated workloads comply with enterprise security, networking, and operational benchmarks
Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team and support a major enterprise initiative focused on migrating infrastructure and workloads from on-premises environments to Google Cloud Platform, based in Greenwood Village, CO. This position is execution-oriented, where you will work alongside infrastructure, application, and database teams to ensure seamless and secure migrations with minimal disruption.
