Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the field
- Over 10 years of experience with IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) development
- More than 3 years in a leadership role managing developers or development teams
- Proven success in overseeing software development within a complex ERP environment
- Familiarity with regulated environments necessitating SOX compliance and audit trails
- Demonstrated history of enhancing development processes and team effectiveness
- Experience with Mincron ERP is highly desirable, though not mandatory
- Ability to capture and document knowledge from seasoned employees
- Knowledge in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing ERP systems is a plus
- Exceptional leadership abilities, including inspiring, mentoring, and maintaining team accountability
- Strong proficiency in RPG IV/ILE RPG programming, with a focus on code quality
- Comprehensive understanding of DB2 for i, including physical and logical files, as well as SQL
- Experience with change management tools like Turnover, MDCMS, Implementer, or similar
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven ability to eliminate obstacles and drive projects to completion
- Excellent problem-solving skills for navigating complex business and technical issues
- Superior communication skills adept at engaging with technical teams, stakeholders, and business users
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the development team consisting of 6-8 developers and QA personnel
- Manage team performance by conducting regular reviews, providing feedback, mentoring, and ensuring accountability
- Allocate tasks, oversee workload and capacity, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions
- Recruit, onboard, and nurture team members as necessary
- Set and enforce coding standards and best practices for RPG development
- Conduct code reviews prior to production deployment to guarantee quality and maintainability
- Oversee the Turnover change management process to ensure SOX compliance for all production changes
- Enhance QA processes to minimize bottlenecks and guarantee thorough testing of modifications
- Direct the strategic support and improvement of the Mincron/Smart Distributor ERP on the IBMi 7.4 platform
