Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in data engineering, particularly in EMS or SCADA settings
- In-depth knowledge of Energy Management Systems and utility operations, preferably in Transmission & Distribution
- Familiarity with technologies for real-time data ingestion and streaming
- Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (such as Python, Scala, or Java)
- Practical experience with cloud services like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of time-series data and industrial communication protocols (e.g., ICCP, OPC)
- Background in handling large-scale data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop)
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and uphold scalable data pipelines that support EMS and SCADA systems
- Incorporate real-time operational data from EMS platforms into enterprise data infrastructures (such as data lakes and warehouses)
- Collaborate closely with operations, grid engineering, and IT teams to guarantee timely and accurate data accessibility
- Assist in data modeling and transformation for power system information, including telemetry, outages, and asset data
- Enable downstream applications like advanced analytics, forecasting, and grid optimization
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance throughout EMS data processes
- Diagnose and resolve data integration and performance challenges in real-time settings
- Partner with system integrators and vendors on EMS-related data projects
Description
We are currently looking for an EMS Data Engineer to join our team in Armonk, NY. This position involves supporting the design, integration, and optimization of data pipelines within our Energy Management Systems (EMS) environments. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating real-time and historical data flows across SCADA/EMS platforms, which are essential for grid operations, analytics, and enterprise data initiatives.
