Requirements
Must:
- Proven expertise in Databricks and distributed data processing (Spark), particularly in batch processing
- Extensive hands-on experience integrating with APIs for data ingestion and system connectivity
- Strong background with Teradata and practical understanding of Teradata-based environments, including extraction and migration
- Robust ETL/ELT experience capable of designing comprehensive pipelines and resolving complex data challenges
- Demonstrated ability to exert influence with outstanding communication skills and a strong executive presence (mandatory)
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical authority for Databricks within the team, setting the direction and establishing standards for implementation
- Mentor senior engineers, enhancing team capabilities and delivery quality through guidance and technical reviews
- Transform business goals into technical execution strategies while effectively influencing stakeholders with clear communication and storytelling
- Design, construct, and enhance batch processing pipelines in Databricks/Spark, focusing on reliability and performance
- Lead the development of scalable data transformation and orchestration patterns, including scheduling and recovery solutions
- Create and implement strong data ingestion patterns utilizing APIs, managing aspects such as authentication and error handling
- Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to define API contracts for reliable data delivery into analytics and operational processes
- Apply ETL/ELT best practices, including requirements translation and performance tuning, to maintain well-documented pipelines
- Utilize Teradata knowledge to support integration and migration strategies effectively
- Enhance engineering practices by establishing code reviews, reusable frameworks, and production support documentation
- Ensure data solutions adhere to security, compliance, and reliability standards through comprehensive quality control measures
