Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering for DE III role
- 3-7+ years of experience in data engineering for DE II role
- Advanced to expert-level proficiency in SQL, with a strong history of designing and optimizing complex transformation logic at scale
- Practical experience with Snowflake within an Enterprise Data Warehouse or analytics context
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, preferably GitHub
- Exposure to orchestration tools, specifically Snowflake Tasks; knowledge of Airflow/MWAA is a plus
- Solid understanding of data quality frameworks, automated validation, and testing processes
- Knowledge of COPY INTO and Snowflake-native data ingestion patterns; familiarity with Snowflake Tasks for orchestration and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clarifying complex concepts
- Analytical mindset with a systematic problem-solving approach
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and responsible when managing production environments
- (Preferred) Hands-on experience with Python for data processing and automation
- (Preferred) Understanding of CI/CD methodologies, with GitHub Actions favored
- (Preferred) Experience with AWS services such as S3 and Glue
- (Preferred) Knowledge of developing Airflow DAGs
- (Preferred) Experience in large, intricate enterprise data systems
- (Preferred) Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including automation, monitoring, and observability
- (Preferred) Experience with healthcare data, particularly in handling PHI/PII and working with claims lifecycle and EDI formats
Responsibilities
- Analyze query performance, utilizing analytical functions and set-based operations along with data modeling techniques
- Convert business requirements into efficient and maintainable SQL pipelines
- Engage in dimensional modeling, including star, snowflake, and denormalized structures
- Design and enhance complex transformation logic to scale effectively
