Requirements
Must:
- Associates degree in Computer Programming or equivalent training is required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience is necessary
- Previous experience in a Data Center is essential
- Proficiency in preparing, staging, and executing startups and shutdowns for equipment like racks, hard drives, and switches is required
- Familiarity with Network Design Tasks (NDTs) is advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal abilities
- Basic capability to work autonomously and manage ones own time effectively
Responsibilities
- Monitor systems for any equipment failures or performance errors
- Address program error messages by diagnosing and correcting issues or terminating the program when necessary
- Assist programmers and systems analysts in testing and debugging new software
- Use spreadsheet programs and other software applications to load, manipulate data, and generate reports
- Prepare, stage, set up, and execute startups and shutdowns according to specific instructions, checklists, and standard protocols
- Conduct post-execution quality assurance checks, ensuring proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling in line with safety protocols and deployment standards
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting per standard procedures, rapidly identifying causes of issues and replacing defective components
- Decommission hardware for straightforward changes and upgrades, such as memory enhancements and OS rebuilds, following standard procedures with minimal supervision
