Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline, Business, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong and effective communication abilities
- Capable of working collaboratively with teams as well as independently
- Experience with public health data systems
- Knowledge of data standards
- Understanding of HIPAA, privacy regulations, and data use agreements
- Proficiency with analytic tools like R, Python, or SAS, and reporting/visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive data platform requirements
- Extensive knowledge of data warehousing and cloud-based Enterprise Data solutions
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Intermediate SQL query skills or higher
- Working experience with at least one Business Intelligence tool, such as Tableau
Responsibilities
- Establish and uphold data quality benchmarks, validation rules, and monitoring procedures for public health data
- Implement quality assurance checks
- Oversee data quality focusing on accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and validity
- Identify, track, and facilitate the resolution of data quality challenges affecting related data assets
- Ensure technical integrity of data pipelines
- Collaborate with epidemiologists, program managers, data stewards, and developers to evaluate data quality impacts
- Validate data from ingestion to staging, curation, and availability for analytics
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and business rules
- Assist in data governance, stewardship, access controls, lineage, and standardization
- Conduct QA testing for system upgrades, new data sources, and changes driven by policy
