Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in B2B collections, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables), Power BI, and accounts receivable/credit systems (e.g., Bectran)
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts and act as the primary contact for clients with overdue balances
- Execute high-volume outbound communications to clients regarding overdue accounts
- Negotiate payment arrangements and obtain commitments for payment
- Ensure timely follow-ups to confirm receipt of agreed payments
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies affecting payments
- Handle missing purchase orders (POs) and proof-of-delivery (POD) challenges
- Collaborate with internal teams to eliminate payment obstacles and hasten resolutions
- Analyze aging reports to pinpoint high-risk or delinquent accounts
- Suggest and implement effective collection strategies
- Place accounts on credit hold per policy and inform Sales of any status changes
- Identify accounts that have exhausted internal collection attempts
- Monitor job-specific lien deadlines and compliance necessities
- Collect and organize documentation for preliminary notices or lien filings
- Prepare thorough, audit-ready credit files for referral to collection agencies or legal representation
- Maintain precise, timely, and legally sound collection notes
- Ensure all collection activities are properly recorded in our ERP and credit systems
