Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical role.
- At least eight (8) years of progressive experience in Database Administration or programming within a medium to large organization, ideally in the healthcare sector.
- Alternatively, twelve (12) years of relevant experience in Database Administration or programming in a structured IT environment, preferably in healthcare.
- Proficient in ANSI SQL, with a preferred focus on T-SQL.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools, particularly Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.
- Strong skills in database design, performance tuning, and maintenance, with a good understanding of data security and integrity standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the organizations database management strategy, ensuring data integrity and optimal database design.
- Lead discussions and mentor application and database development staff on database design, automation, and data load procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership in database development and operations, employing Agile methodologies.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to tackle complex issues and minimize operational disruptions.
- Architect and develop ETL processes to facilitate data collection and storage from external sources.
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and other related database platforms like PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Design and modify database structures, including tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
- Conduct routine upgrades, maintenance, and security audits of database systems.
- Manage and oversee database server administration, including performance monitoring and backup strategies.
- Establish standards for data integrity and provide recommendations for database tuning and enhancements to the development team.
