Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
- Six (6) years of progressive experience in Database Administration or Database programming in a medium to large organization with a structured IT department, preferably in healthcare
- Alternatively, ten (10) years of progressive experience in a similar role in a medium to large organization with a structured IT department, preferably in healthcare
- Expertise in ANSI SQL (T-SQL preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Generative AI and experience with data warehousing concepts is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Strong analytical skills and ability to apply critical thinking techniques
- Proficient in database design, maintenance, and tuning practices
Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of all operational databases and associated processes
- Support comprehensive database systems with in-depth knowledge of stored data
- Design and create databases, tables, and ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS and Azure Data Factory
- Collaborate and assist application and database development teams in design, automation, and validation of data load routines
- Document database designs, schemas, and data flow diagrams
- Engage in discussions with internal and external partners concerning data practices
- Conduct code reviews and modify supported languages for custom database packages in Azure DevOps
- Support and troubleshoot enterprise SQL Server environments and associated servers
- Perform routine maintenance and security audits on database software
- Oversee backup and recovery processes, along with system performance monitoring
- Establish best practices for user governance and permissions management
- Provide leadership in database design and align with KHS and industry standards
- Mentor junior team members on database-related intricacies and support application development needs
- Attend webinars and conferences to stay updated on database trends and standards
