Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical field, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of education. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration. - Must meet the physical demands as outlined in the job description. - Familiarity with routine system administration tasks and experience in recording data in system admin logs is preferred. - Understanding of debugging procedures and protocols. - Proficient in IT principles, practices, and Microsoft Office applications, along with a basic comprehension of system administration in a Windows environment. - Willingness to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.

Responsibilities

- Provide assistance to the Government with the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of computer systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction. - Deliver remote and desk-side technical support by responding to IT support tickets and carrying out diagnostics and repair tasks on hardware and software components. - Support in creating and managing user accounts, collaborating with other software applications, compiling reports, and addressing customer inquiries. - Assist in the upkeep of Active Directory and other system accounts, ensuring connectivity and support for client applications, and help configure local and wide area network services. - Monitor and manage open tickets in the VAs ServiceNow incident ticketing system, ensuring adherence to processes, and reporting any discrepancies with suggested corrective actions for approval. - Engage in a work environment demanding both sedentary and active duties, including careful handling of electronic components while adhering to safety standards to prevent injuries or damage. - Employ debugging protocols and methodologies. - Identify customer-reported problems and implement prompt corrective measures. - Facilitate the return of equipment, handling deployments, unboxing, inventory checks, and verifications. - Physically capable of handling demanding tasks, including lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and performing physical maneuvers necessary for accessing and repairing equipment. - Remain active and mobile throughout the work area for extensive periods.
