Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical field, or 8 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of education.
- 2+ years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or Systems Administration.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position as detailed in the job description.
- Experience conducting routine system administration tasks and maintaining system admin logs is preferred.
- Familiarity with various debugging protocols and processes is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of IT principles and practices, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and systems administration in a Windows environment.
- Willingness and ability to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance, including meeting updated ID requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting support for computer systems and equipment, ensuring user satisfaction and optimal performance.
- Deliver both remote and desk-side technical assistance, addressing IT support tickets, and conducting diagnostics and repairs on hardware and software components.
- Contribute to the setup and maintenance of user accounts, collaborate with other software applications, compile reports, and respond to customer needs.
- Support the maintenance of Active Directory and other system accounts, assist with connectivity and client applications, and aid in configuring local and wide area network services.
- Monitor ongoing tickets in VAs ServiceNow customer incident ticketing system, ensuring compliance with business processes, and report discrepancies with suggested corrections.
- Work in a dynamic environment, requiring both sedentary and physical activity, while adhering to safety protocols for equipment handling.
- Apply debugging methods and procedures effectively.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by customers and implement swift corrective measures.
- Manage equipment returning, deploying, unboxing, inventorying, and verifying tasks.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and navigating different facility spaces for equipment access and repair.
- Remain active and mobile in the work area consistently throughout the day.
