Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience of 8 years. - Over 2 years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration. - Ability to meet the physical demands of the role as specified in the job description. - Experience in routine system administration tasks and maintaining logs. - Familiarity with various debugging protocols and mechanisms. - Solid understanding of IT principles and practices, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. - Basic knowledge of system administration in a Windows environment. - Willingness to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance. - Compliance with facility-specific vaccination and testing requirements for onsite support roles.

Responsibilities

- Act as a primary resource for district surge support events, with travel requirements of up to 12 consecutive days. - Independently manage diverse IT tasks, including asset deployments, imaging, and decommissioning. - Support critical IT projects and reduce backlog, ensuring all assignments are documented using ServiceNow. - Aid in the setup, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of computer systems and equipment to guarantee optimal performance. - Provide both remote and desk-side technical assistance, addressing IT support tickets and conducting repairs on hardware and software. - Help with user account management, integrate with other software, compile reports, and respond to customer inquiries. - Assist in maintaining Active Directory and system accounts, ensuring connectivity and support for network services. - Monitor open tickets in the VAs ServiceNow system to adhere to process standards, addressing discrepancies as necessary. - Navigate both sedentary and active work environments while handling electronic components safely. - Apply debugging techniques and processes. - Efficiently resolve customer-reported issues and implement quick corrective measures. - Support equipment procedures such as returns, deployments, unboxing, and inventory verification. - Physically handle tasks involving lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds and maneuvering through various spaces. - Remain active and mobile in the work area for prolonged periods.
