Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in supporting a large-scale computing environment.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care, or related field, along with a minimum of three (3) years of IT experience in a support or operations environment. Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Understanding of IT hardware, including servers, storage, network devices, and components such as NICs, power supplies, and hard drives.
- Physical capability to lift, rack, and secure heavy IT equipment safely.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with requestors via email, conference calls, and service updates.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with internal data center personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation and decommissioning of data center equipment.
- Assist in local asset tracking and reporting for hardware through its lifecycle.
- Provide hands-on support for raised floor incident resolution, including monitoring physical equipment and power distribution strips.
- Collaborate with team members to analyze and prioritize incoming requests and alerts.
- Provide second-level support to resolve issues with products and applications, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Document problems, service requests, and resolutions accurately in the tracking system.
- Participate in the execution of disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Assist with training sessions and documentation for data center continuity planning and emergency procedures.
- Support troubleshooting efforts to identify and escalate moderately complex problems as needed.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and knowledge repositories.
