Requirements
Must:
- I have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering, demonstrating strong coding skills in Go or Python.
- I possess deep knowledge of Terraform and GitOps workflows.
- I have hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and AWS networking.
- I have a successful track record of automating at least one AWS managed service.
- I am experienced in working within highly regulated environments (SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
Responsibilities
- I will enhance the security configurations of the KUBRA HQ cloud platform, with an emphasis on Kubernetes.
- I will develop reusable Terraform modules and Kubernetes policies to simplify cloud complexity.
- I will enforce security guardrails across clusters using Kyverno (or OPA Gatekeeper), AWS IAM Roles for Service Accounts, network policies, and Pod Security Standards.
- I will automate policy testing, drift detection, and remediation through GitOps pipelines to ensure compliance during upgrades, add-ons, or workloads.
- I will automate build, test, and release workflows using CircleCI and Argo CD, enforcing policy as code and conducting automated security scans.
- I will support and enhance Infrastructure as Code configurations for AWS managed services such as AWS WAF.
- I will implement security findings pipelines using event-driven automation and collaborate with Security Operations on remediation documentation.
- I will engage with product teams to gather feedback and refine the platform backlog, conduct demonstrations, write RFCs, and maintain documentation.
- I will advocate for best practices related to resiliency, cost optimization, and seamless security.
- I will implement security controls and best practices within CI/CD pipelines.
- I will provide security guidance to product engineering teams to ensure compliance with industry standards in public cloud settings.
- I will collaborate with development teams to establish secure coding practices.
Description
In this role, I will be responsible for designing, building, and operating KUBRAβs Internal Developer Platform (IDP), which enables product teams to deliver, observe, and secure microservices quickly and reliably. This position is focused on software engineering where I will utilize my skills in Python/Go, Terraform, and Kubernetes to create self-service infrastructure and optimize automation. A significant part of my role will involve the integration and automation of AWS managed security services, ensuring that security is inherently part of the platform without hindering developer productivity. I must show a strong commitment to 'Security as Code', ensuring security is "baked in" and automated. I will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and maintain a high level of professionalism in all client interactions. I will understand and align with the business strategy and its associated performance metrics, while also exhibiting strong organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
