Requirements
Must:
- We require an active U.S. Top Secret clearance and eligibility for an expedited SCI read-in; a recent in-scope investigation is needed, and prior TS/SCI with polygraph is preferred.
- We prefer a bachelors degree in a technical discipline, though equivalent experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
- We require DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 441 Network Operations Specialist role, such as Network+, Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, CISSP, or CCNP Security.
- CCIE Collaboration is strongly preferred.
- We need 10+ years of experience supporting, leading, or contributing to the review, design, and deployment of network engineering solutions, with extensive hands-on experience in enterprise Unified Communications environments.
- We require proven expertise designing, implementing, and resolving issues across complex voice, video, and collaboration platforms, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
- We need practical experience with session border controllers, voice gateways, call routing, and quality of service for real-time traffic.
- We require hands-on familiarity with VQ Conference Manager, Jabber, Cisco telephony endpoints, and Cisco Expressway.
- We look for a demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix operational voice and video incidents in mission-critical settings with minimal onboarding time.
- We need the ability to make an immediate impact in a fast-moving, mission-critical operational environment.
- This position is designated as essential personnel and may require work during government shutdowns, emergencies, or other continuity-of-operations events.
Responsibilities

- We design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms.
- We set up and maintain SBCs, voice gateways, dial plans, and quality-of-service policies to protect real-time communication performance.
- We act as a technical subject-matter expert and resolve operational issues quickly with little ramp-up time.
- We participate in Agile delivery and contribute to joint problem-solving efforts.
- We communicate technical risks, findings, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- We proactively suggest engineering improvements and architectural refinements.
- We engage in team discussions, planning sessions, and ongoing process improvements.
- We support mission operations with urgency, accountability, and strong ownership.
- We bring creativity and innovation to solutions that align with customer needs and mission goals.
- We help build and sustain customer confidence through professionalism and deep technical knowledge.

This opportunity is for a senior Unified Communications network engineer supporting a highly secure federal customer in the Washington, DC metro area. The role is fully onsite at a secure federal installation, with relocation and travel assistance available; for teams of two or more in the same region, alternate accredited SCIF locations may be supported. We also encourage referrals and offer bonus eligibility for qualified introductions. This is one of eight engineering openings across three skill sets on the same client team. The position offers a salary range of $230,000 to $342,000 per year, plus potential performance bonuses and company-paid training or certifications.
