SRE/DevOps Engineer - Java

- Design and implement globally distributed GCP platforms with a focus on high availability of 99.99% or more - Develop and operationalize service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs), and error budget policies - Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and long-term remedies for large-scale production systems - Optimize and refine Java-based microservices, including garbage collection strategies and memory profiling - Architect and maintain Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments on a large scale - Employ GCP-native solutions like Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud SQL, and Bigtable - Establish secure and reproducible infrastructure using Terraform and policy as code practices - Create advanced service mesh configurations and manage traffic with Istio and Anthos - Implement and manage stateful Kubernetes workloads with Portworx - Support event-driven architectures utilizing streaming technologies - Optimize system performance for low-latency, high-throughput scenarios - Enhance observability with tools like Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk - Leverage eBPF for performance diagnostics and kernel-level tracing - Manage ingress, load balancing, and traffic management using Nginx Controller - Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and other GCP tools - Build internal developer platforms (PaaS) to streamline deployment processes - Automate operational tasks using various programming languages - Provide around-the-clock production support across multiple U.S. time zones - Participate in on-call rotations, weekend deployments, and incident response activities - Continuously enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes
