Senior Satellite Systems Engineer, ALG

- Collaborate with a project team to manage a high-bandwidth, low-Earth orbit communications satellite constellation and terrestrial communication technologies - Define requirements, create interface control documents, and conduct requirements derivation and allocation analysis with developed tools for design verification - Conduct thorough analysis of component and subsystem designs to document expectations, evaluate tests, troubleshoot failures, and provide feedback for performance enhancement - Work closely with diverse technical teams (software, mechanical, modem, compliance) to validate system-level and network-level operations from concept through execution - Integrate the end-to-end RF communications system and engage with customers to select components - Develop testing protocols and procedures for lab and environmental chamber tests based on specified requirements - Create test plans for satellite or payload verification as per identified criteria - Identify and mitigate potential self-interference and system interference issues - Set up test equipment for automated operations: satellite link emulator, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc. - Engage with suppliers to select necessary lab technologies - Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis for any failures - Record test outcomes, coverage, and key performance indicators (KPIs) - Communicate project status and issues clearly with peers and managers - Guide payload subsystems through testing campaigns across the development life cycle, from initial concept to integration - Analyze test data and collaborate with Kuiper, clients, suppliers, or partners to assess product performance and suggest potential improvements
