Web Applications Developer

In this role, I will oversee the entire web application development cycle, which includes gathering requirements, designing, implementing, documenting, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications. I will maintain and improve existing web applications to adapt to changing user needs, ensure security, and enhance both performance and functionality. I will also develop both front-end and back-end components of web services and applications, collaborating with functional offices and the AIS team to support customized applications, including the Ellucian Colleague ERP and related systems. Additionally, I will create interactive dashboards and data visualizations to aid decision-making and reporting. I will evaluate and recommend system solutions, comparing custom development with off-the-shelf options. Partnering with Marketing to enhance the College’s public-facing website through dynamic, accessible, and standards-compliant code will also be a key part of my duties. I will supervise and mentor student developers, supporting instructional and educational technology projects, and design and implement backend architecture, including server-side scripting, databases, and systems integration. Promptly addressing system outages and critical issues—including after-hours support—will be part of my responsibilities, along with participating in scheduled on-call support and maintenance activities. I will configure, update, and maintain enterprise-level servers for optimal reliability and performance, and perform other duties as assigned.
