Requirements
Must:
- Proficient in Windows Server at the L3 level
- Expertise in VMware, including VM provisioning, migration, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience in server migration
- Strong knowledge of data and storage migration
- Extensive hands-on experience in enterprise Windows environments
- Awareness of RedHat Linux preferred
- Familiarity with heterogeneous or legacy infrastructure environments is a plus
- Background in supporting M&A or integration projects is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage OS and data/storage migration tasks primarily within Windows Server and VMware environments
- Execute Windows Server migrations, including from legacy and non-standard OS versions to standardized platforms like Windows Server 2022
- Assist in data and storage migrations using tools such as RoboCopy and StorageX
- Facilitate the transition of non-standard server operating systems (e.g., Win10 servers, Ubuntu) to recognized enterprise standards
- Collaborate cross-departmentally with infrastructure, storage, networking, and application teams
- Provide after-hours or weekend support as required based on migration timelines
- Travel to client locations as necessary to assist with migration or integration activities
- Assume ownership during acquisition/integration processes and deliver necessary support to meet project objectives, even under uncertain scope
- Function efficiently with limited or no documentation, making independent technical decisions
Description
We are looking for a Windows L3 Engineer with substantial hands-on expertise in Windows Server, VMware, and server/data migrations to help with our acquisition and integration efforts. This role will involve taking technical responsibility for OS and data migration activities across various, and sometimes unconventional, environments. Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, capable of operating in loosely documented settings, able to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, and adapt swiftly to evolving requirements. This position is hybrid, with potential work locations in Alpharetta, GA, or Cincinnati, OH.
