Requirements
Must:
- Previous experience in tooling engineering within the aerospace or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficient in CAD software and capable of interpreting engineering designs and specifications.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing techniques, production systems, and quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with robotics, electrical engineering, and retrofit design practices.
- Strong ability to analyze engineering data and implement corrective solutions.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Continuous learning and innovative mindset is preferred.
- Customer-oriented with a strong business perspective.
- Proficient in systems thinking and analytical methods.
- Awareness of safety and quality standards.
- Experience in maintenance, retrofit, and operational procedures is advantageous.
- An associate degree with 3+ years of related experience, or a bachelors degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience in engineering or a similar field.
Responsibilities
- Design and document advanced tooling and equipment concepts for aerospace product design and manufacturing.
- Participate in design reviews, collect requirements, and create or modify 2D/3D models and technical documentation.
- Investigate and implement new technologies, such as robotics and automation, to improve manufacturing processes.
- Develop offload packages, specifications, purchase requests, and usage instructions related to tooling and equipment.
- Ensure that designs adhere to safety, ergonomics, maintainability, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Create inspection criteria, preventive maintenance schedules, and user training materials.
- Offer technical support for engineering modifications and resolve discrepancies through analysis and problem-solving.
- Maintain configuration control over both hardware and software systems.
- Assess and recommend actions for existing tooling and equipment.
