Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of related experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture, or a comparable mix of education and hands-on work experience.
- 4+ years of proficiency in using observability and monitoring platforms such as BigPanda, ThousandEyes, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk Observability, AppDynamics.
- 4+ years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), particularly in incident, problem, and change management support.
- 3+ years of expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Kubernetes, specifically strong knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- 3+ years supporting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) functions in production settings.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-native architectures and high-availability systems, utilizing platforms like Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- 3+ years of experience in automation and scripting with Ansible Tower, focusing on the development and upkeep of playbooks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle intricate engineering challenges and support large-scale initiatives.
- Assess and resolve complex engineering problems, often in ambiguous or unprecedented situations.
- Ensure that our systems are reliable, scalable, and perform at high levels through strategic engagement with stakeholders.
- Apply knowledge of systems engineering practices, compliance standards, and enterprise policies to guide decision-making.
- Maintain oversight of incident, problem, and change management within IT service processes.
Description
We are a forward-thinking organization located in Des Moines, IA, looking for a Systems Operations Engineering Consultant. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3 days a week and offers the opportunity to transition to full-time employment after a 12-month contract period.
