Requirements
Must:
- Typically 2+ years of relevant professional experience in creating technical illustrations, animations, and interactive media.
- At least 2 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and/or modifications.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to produce accurate visuals.
- Proficient in graphic art tools or equivalent to BOGART.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to effectively resolve moderate-scope technical challenges independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with engineers, technical writers, and stakeholders.
- Capable of organizing and managing multiple assets and tasks to achieve project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Generate, revise, and provide technical illustrations, diagrams, full-color graphics, and 2D/3D animations for engineering products and services.
- Design interactive electronic media to aid in troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and training.
- Evaluate source data (engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, photographs, and input from subject matter experts) to inform and validate multimedia content.
- Implement and uphold established standards for illustration and graphic development, including templates, style guides, and naming/version-control methods.
- Maintain, catalog, and store multimedia assets in designated repositories for easy access, reuse, and compliance with configuration management.
- Assist in compliance reviews to verify that media adheres to applicable technical standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance checks on multimedia deliverables (visual accuracy, resolution, format, interactivity, accessibility).
- Resolve designer-level technical issues and propose practical solutions to meet project needs and timelines.
- Collaborate regularly with technical writers, engineers, support teams, training developers, and configuration management to incorporate multimedia into deliverables.
- Engage in research on new tools, techniques, and industry best practices; suggest potential enhancements to workflows and toolsets.
- Guide junior designers (Level 1) on routine tasks and adhere to established processes to ensure consistent quality output.
