Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Over 3 years of experience in testing electronic hardware (experience level may be flexible)
- Strong grasp of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and embedded hardware
- Proficient in using standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, signal generators, and DMMs
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and datasheets
- Practical experience in hardware debugging and root-cause analysis
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
- Experience with test automation using Python, Shell scripting, or similar tools (preferred)
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware interactions, and communication protocols like IC, SPI, UART, USB, and Ethernet (preferred)
- Background in manufacturing test development and production support (preferred)
- Knowledge of reliability testing, environmental testing, and failure analysis techniques (preferred)
- Awareness of regulatory standards such as FCC, CE, UL, and IEC (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement detailed test plans for electronic hardware, including PCB assemblies, subsystems, and full products
- Design, construct, and maintain hardware test setups, fixtures, and equipment
- Conduct functional, electrical, performance, stress, and environmental assessments
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues at the component, board, and system levels
- Collaborate with hardware design engineers to evaluate schematics, layouts, and design modifications from a testability and reliability standpoint
- Create automated test scripts and tools to enhance test coverage, consistency, and efficiency
- Record test procedures, results, failure analyses, and corrective measures
- Support design verification (DVT), production validation (PVT), and manufacturing initiation tasks
- Aid in regulatory, safety, and compliance assessments (e.g., EMC/EMI, ESD, thermal, safety)
- Provide insights and suggestions to enhance design durability, manufacturability, and testability
Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer in Test Engineering for a 6-month contract based in Weston, FL, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $45 to $57. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing test strategies to validate electronic hardware designs. You will work closely with teams across hardware design, firmware, manufacturing, and quality to ensure compliance with functional, performance, reliability, and regulatory standards throughout the product lifecycle.
