Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred
- 3-5 years of practical information security engineering and administration experience
- Demonstrated technical expertise with perimeter security devices and their configuration
- Proficiency in virtualized environments, with significant experience in VMware and related technologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and resolve issues effectively
- Excellent business communication and technical writing abilities
- In-depth understanding of financial institution regulations, including NCUA, GLBA, and PCI DSS
- Solid project management skills, capable of maintaining focus on projects spanning multiple months
- Adept at managing several projects concurrently
- Experience collaborating with third-party service providers and vendors
- Comprehensive knowledge of network security technologies and TCP/IP communications
- Effective troubleshooting abilities and logical thinking
- Competence in conveying technical information clearly to all organizational levels and vendors
- Ability to prioritize diverse tasks effectively
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and work varying hours, including evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Design and configure secure network solutions, including firewalls and next-generation firewalls
- Oversee and monitor intrusion detection and prevention systems, addressing any suspicious activities
- Implement and maintain network-based data loss prevention solutions, creating policies for data privacy
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments using tools such as Nessus, and manage remediation efforts
- Deploy zero-day threat protection measures and formulate response strategies
- Manage endpoint protection technologies to defend against malware threats
- Implement identity and access management solutions, such as Okta and RSA
- Create, implement, and manage SIEM solutions for centralized security monitoring, advanced threat detection, and thorough incident response, leveraging extensive expertise to enhance security operations
- Maintain documentation of security architecture and provide routine security posture reports
- Collaborate with IT and compliance teams, offering insights into security best practices
