Requirements
Must:
- Strong, hands-on experience with .NET and C# development.
- Practical experience with Python for coding or scripting tasks.
- Demonstrated experience in migrating .NET applications to .NET Core.
- Solid understanding of MS SQL Server, including SQL jobs and stored procedures.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services is a plus.
- Knowledge of Java or Java-based application components is advantageous.
- Understanding of ASP.NET is considered a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of legacy .NET applications to .NET Core, utilizing modern frameworks and tools.
- Analyze existing codebases, SQL jobs, stored procedures, and data structures to design updated solutions.
- Build and enhance backend services using C#, .NET, and MS SQL Server.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to plan and execute modernization projects.
- Assist in converting components previously written in Java; Java experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Support cloud readiness endeavors as applications transition to AWS post-migration.
- Ensure high-quality, maintainable code through best practices, code reviews, and testing.
Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend .NET Developer based in Chicago, IL, for a contract-to-hire opportunity. In this role, you will focus on building and updating enterprise applications, with an emphasis on migrating existing .NET applications to .NET Core. You will be part of an Agile team responsible for analyzing legacy code and improving overall application performance and design. We offer a competitive hourly salary ranging from $65.00 to $70.00.
