Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 8 years of practical experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in gathering and integrating data from various sources.
- Experience in transforming and modeling data with business logic.
- Ability to deliver analytics-ready datasets for reporting and visualization.
- Strong knowledge of Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Dataflow (Apache Beam), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
- Familiarity with the broader Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
- Advanced skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience in designing and implementing ETL pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Nice to have:
- Extensive experience in real-time data processing using Kafka or Pub/Sub.
- Background in Power BI development and dashboarding.
- Exposure to modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Knowledge of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
- Familiarity with visualization tools including Tableau, Grafana, or Looker.
- Google Professional Data Engineer certification.
- Understanding of Fraud and Financial Crime domains.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines leveraging Google Cloud Platform tools such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow (Apache Beam), Cloud Composer (Airflow), and Pub/Sub.
- Create high-performance, production-level Python and SQL code to support ETL workflows.
- Implement advanced data models in BigQuery, utilizing partitioning, clustering, and materialized views to enhance performance.
- Consolidate data from diverse sources into centralized, analytics-ready datasets for fraud analysis and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for data quality, governance, and security.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and proactively address data pipeline challenges to maintain high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and analytics teams to gather requirements and provide scalable data solutions.
- Contribute to data architecture decisions and suggest enhancements for improved performance and scalability.
- Document processes and procedures for metrics production and operational transparency.
- Operate within an Agile framework to deliver incremental value while managing competing priorities effectively.
