Requirements

Must:
- Formal training or certification in Software Engineering or a related discipline. - Minimum of 5 years of practical experience for senior positions; foundational experience for junior roles. - Strong expertise in Kotlin with a focus on native Android development (90% or more native). - Familiarity with Java for legacy components. - Experience with Android Jetpack, MVVM, Dagger (1 & 2), and component-based architecture. - Practical experience with unit testing, automation, and debugging on devices or emulators. - Proficient in working with large codebases and shared libraries. - Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices. - Practical exposure to cloud-native technologies is a plus. - Familiarity with RxJava, Retrofit, and modern Android networking patterns is preferred. - Strong knowledge of mobile app resiliency, security, and performance optimization is advantageous. - Experience with mobile monitoring tools and crash analytics platforms is beneficial. - Ability to analyze complex systems to identify hidden issues and implement improvements using data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin as the primary language and Java as secondary. - Integrate Android Jetpack components and MVVM architecture, adhering to modern Android development practices. - Collaborate within a Scrum team to deliver features, address defects, and support rapid release cycles. - Work closely with engineering leadership to define technical solutions, document methodologies, and ensure seamless integration into the existing codebase. - Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and assist in monitoring mobile app performance and crashes. - Execute unit testing, contribute to automation initiatives, and maintain code quality through best practices and peer reviews. - Manage large, shared codebases and handle component integrations using Dagger (1 & 2). - Utilize Jira, Confluence, and Agile workflows for tracking work, documenting solutions, and fostering collaboration across teams. - Engage in continuous improvement efforts, including performance profiling on devices, emulators, and simulators. - Foster a culture of engineering excellence, inclusivity, and teamwork.
