Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, supporting multiple Oracle databases on Windows/UNIX/Linux platforms.
- Strong understanding of Oracle implementation within the Azure cloud.
- Proficient with Oracle 19c, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Golden Gate, Data Guard, RMAN, OS Watcher, Azure Data Studio, SQL Plus, OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL.
- Experience in managing, optimizing, monitoring, and securing Oracle databases.
- 2-3 years of experience working in Azure is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, scalability/capacity planning, and UNIX shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Agile values and principles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the migration and support of extensive Oracle databases from on-premises to Azure Cloud.
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases on a Linux platform.
- Ensure optimal performance, availability, integrity, and security of critical data infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external clients, and application developers.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Oracle utilities like AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OS Watcher, and possess strong knowledge in OEM management and administration.
- Utilize DMS tools for seamless migration of Oracle databases to the Cloud.
- Configure, administer, and implement complex database infrastructures, including multiple replication technologies and high availability architectures.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize database performance.
- Conduct failover testing, patching, and upgrades while demonstrating knowledge in storage, encryption, security, and Azure Cloud.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support for production databases.
- Collaborate with the Azure Infrastructure Operations team to implement performance and resource optimization improvements.
- Maintain expertise in backup and recovery tools specific to Oracle databases within Azure.
- Perform root cause analysis on production-related database issues.
