Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in supporting and maintaining mainframe applications
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
- Experience in large, distributed development settings
- Capability to work collaboratively with offshore teams
- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Experience in documenting technical systems and processes
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to assess requirements and deliver scalable solutions
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications utilizing COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM
- Conduct code reviews ensuring compliance with secure coding and development standards
- Support application maintenance, ensuring production stability, and enhancements across various systems
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues expeditiously
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs and operational procedures
- Coordinate development activities and deliverables with offshore and distributed teams
- Provide on-call support and aid in resolving production issues
- Assist with application releases, audits, and user-reported problems
- Act as a subject-matter expert and mentor junior developers
Description
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to support crucial enterprise systems in our Salt Lake City office. In this role, you will be an integral part of a consulting delivery team dedicated to the stability, enhancement, and modernization of large-scale mainframe applications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to tackle complex business and technical challenges in a dynamic environment. Our compensation ranges from $50.00 to $55.00 USD per hour, and we offer a supportive and engaging work atmosphere.
