Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or technology architecture (equivalent experience through work history, training, military service, or education is acceptable)
- 5+ years of direct operational experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms
- 2+ years of experience in Linux systems operations
- 2+ years of familiarity with container technologies, such as Docker
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters, including upkeep, upgrades, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting
- Design, construct, implement, and uphold infrastructure solutions in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
- Assess both internal and external technologies to align with target architecture and long-term platform vision
- Serve as the operational lead during significant incidents, facilitating quick diagnosis, mitigation, and root cause analysis
- Review high-impact outages and ensure the implementation of preventive measures, operational guidelines, and long-term corrective actions
- Enhance automation through Python, Bash, GitOps workflows, or AI-assisted tools to optimize processes and reduce manual labor
- Identify operational inefficiencies and spearhead initiatives to boost platform reliability, resilience, and maturity
- Manage the complete lifecycle of OpenShift activities including cluster builds, configurations, onboarding, updates, and decommissioning
- Ensure consistent, secure, and compliant deployment practices across various environments
- Collaborate with engineering, SRE, development, and security teams to establish standardized operational procedures and best practices
- Ensure platform operations comply with company policies, security mandates, audit controls, and regulatory standards
- Work alongside peers, colleagues, and management to resolve operational challenges and meet goals
- Supervise daily operational risk and control processes, ensuring adherence to guidelines and work standards
- Recommend strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness, performance, and platform health
- Engage with internal clients and external vendors to troubleshoot issues, support platform adoption, and coordinate solutions
