Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with optical networking devices (Ciena 6500 preferred or ADVA FSP series)
- Familiarity with Ciena Site Manager or similar deployment tools
- Expert-level knowledge in routing and switching, with a CCNP or CCIE certification required
- In-depth understanding of BGP, OSPF, and IP routing principles
- Proven experience with optical transport technologies (DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH)
- Demonstrated ability to execute live migrations and upgrades in active environments
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet, IP, SyncE, and IEEE 1588v2 timing protocols
- Excellent communication skills with experience in supporting telecom or datacenter networks
- Background in the telecom/network industry is necessary
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment, commissioning, and testing of optical and packet networking platforms (Ciena 6500/5400/8700 or ADVA FSP series)
- Execute intricate network migrations and in-service upgrades without customer impact
- Configure and oversee network management systems (NMS) for optical and IP infrastructure
- Assist in the design and implementation of DWDM/CWDM optical transport solutions
- Act as a senior escalation engineer for troubleshooting and resolving complex network or transport issues
- Utilize in-depth expertise in DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, and Ethernet technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee the successful delivery of network solutions
- Employ Linux, Python, or SQL for automation or analytics tasks as necessary
- Provide comprehensive documentation, change plans, and technical reports as required
