Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience with electrical component manufacturing processes and physical property analysis.
- Background in Components Engineering focused on electronic components (ICs, discrete devices).
- Familiarity with new component releases and qualification methodologies.
- Practical knowledge of Agile or Windchill PLM systems for managing BOM changes.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (8-10 years experience).
- Experience with parts selection and qualification processes.
- Capability to create engineering documentation and process change notices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis for component selection and assist in new design initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with DMSMS for electrical and electronic parts.
- Address obsolescence issues and enforce practices to avoid counterfeit components.
- Act as a mediator between vendors, procurement teams, customers, and subcontractors.
- Develop part procurement specifications and maintain engineering documentation.
- Manage BOM modifications and engineering updates using Agile or Windchill PLM systems.
- Facilitate part qualification, evaluate second sources, and oversee part substitutions.
- Resolve component-related quality challenges throughout development and production phases.
- Generate reports for customers regarding components, quality, and obsolescence concerns.
- Contribute to standardization efforts and enhance process improvements continuously.
Description
We are seeking a skilled engineer for our Components Engineering team located in Andover, MA. This position offers a competitive hourly salary ranging from $70.00 to $85.00. Our team is dedicated to supporting innovative product designs, tackling part selection, and managing risks associated with diminishing manufacturing sources.
