Requirements
Must:
- Two-year technical degree or a four-year non-technical degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications design and construction sector
- Familiarity with Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards
- Knowledge of BICSI design methodologies
- Understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements
- Proven experience in leading a telecommunications design team
- Competence in editing design and construction specifications
- Background in start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Ability to estimate and schedule design efforts for extensive multi-building projects with various phases and design packages
- Strong experience in structured cabling design
- Proficient in Bluebeam
- Exceptional communication skills
- Familiarity with Navisworks
Responsibilities
- We seek a Telecommunications Systems Engineer who is enthusiastic about contributing to projects central to our clients operations.
- Lead significant components of large and complex projects as the telecom scope owner.
- Collaborate with other telecom design professionals and supporting design teams to create intricate design packages.
- Coordinate efforts with architects and other disciplinary engineers/design leads.
- Directly engage with client representatives to craft facilities that fulfill their specifications.
- Utilize AutoCAD and SmartPlant in design processes.
- Work with Revit MEP to develop fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Telecom, etc.).
- Assist in the design of Outside Plant (OSP) systems and inter/intra-building backbone distribution systems.
- Create communication room layouts, rack elevations, and wired & wireless device plans.
- Develop cable schedules and ensure all design aspects align with NEC, relevant TIA standards, and applicable client or internal specifications.
