Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Operations, or DevOps with extensive AWS expertise.
- Proficient hands-on knowledge of AWS compute services: EC2, Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), EKS/ECS, and Lambda.
- Strong understanding of networking components, including VPC, Route 53, Security Groups (SG)/Network ACLs (NACL), Application Load Balancer (ALB)/Network Load Balancer (NLB).
- In-depth experience with storage solutions such as S3, EBS, and EFS.
- Familiarity with databases, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
- Expertise in managing AMI pipelines, constructing images, and hardening operating systems at the level required.
- Proven proficiency in using Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot AWS environments and application issues from end to end.
Responsibilities
- Lead the release management process for AWS platforms across various environments, including validation, regression testing, and readiness assessments.
- Manage and enhance core AWS services including VPC, IAM, KMS, Route 53, and related networking baselines and guidelines.
- Design, maintain, and scale cloud infrastructures using Terraform as the primary Infrastructure as Code tool.
- Create reusable Terraform modules encompassing networking, compute resources, storage, EKS, and security.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for IaC: version control, immutability, peer reviews, and automation through CI/CD.
- Deploy, oversee, and sustain production-level AWS EKS clusters, managing node groups and cluster add-ons.
- Establish Kubernetes standards for security, networking, namespaces, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secrets management.
- Collaborate closely with application teams to ensure reliable and secure workload operations within EKS.
- Optimize cluster scaling, workload scheduling, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
- Direct the entire AMI lifecycle, including creation, hardening, vulnerability assessments, tagging, and deprecation.
- Automate AMI pipelines using image builders and validation processes.
- Maintain golden images for EC2 fleets, containers, and hybrid workloads.
- Lead vulnerability, integration, and integrity testing, including assessments and compliance tracking.
- Oversee OS-level and image patching using AWS Systems Manager (SSM) Patch Manager and automated maintenance windows.
- Create patch baselines, dashboards, compliance reports, and ensure adherence to measurable service level agreements (SLAs).
- Construct and sustain an observability stack utilizing CloudWatch, X Ray, OpenTelemetry, and log analytics to achieve comprehensive visibility into application performance and behavior.
- Develop dashboards for key performance indicators, including latency, traffic, errors, and overall system saturation for both infrastructure and applications.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments, employing advanced workflows and deployment strategies.
- Actively participate in on-call rotations, leading incident triage and root cause investigations.
- Create automation and documentation to minimize unnecessary operational workloads and drive improvements in system availability and performance.
- Produce high-quality infrastructure design documents, runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, release notes, and architectural diagrams.
- Conduct operational readiness evaluations, capacity planning, and cost optimization assessments.
