Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software, or Electrical Engineering
- Over 5 years of experience in embedded software development
- Familiarity with multithread, multi-process, and real-time application development
- Proficient in Embedded Linux and Windows Operating Systems
- Strong skills in C/C++ programming languages
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Understanding of hardware interfaces
- Willingness to travel occasionally (<10%)
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with ARM, Coldfire, or Microchip 16- and 32-bit processors
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Make, Python)
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools
- Understanding of network programming concepts
- Experience in the fire detection product industry
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, technical support, NPI teams, and global organizations
- Continuously seek to improve skills with the latest tools and software solutions
- Design, prototype, and develop high-quality embedded software for fire alarm systems
- Implement knowledge in multithread, multi-process, and real-time application development into work
- Analyze, program, debug, modify, test, and deploy software utilized in fire alarm systems
- Drive issues to resolution by balancing customer needs with engineering requirements
