Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or a related engineering field; Masters degree preferred.
- Over 6 years of experience in controls development, with a minimum of 3 years in Model-Based Design using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of creating software requirements and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in teams and support rapid product delivery.
- Experience in system identification, modeling, and data analysis is highly advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink; experience applying Model-Based System Design in embedded systems to enhance automation, optimization, and toolchain processes.
- Proficient in reading embedded code in C/C++ and scripting in Python/MATLAB.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed to support projects and clients.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate as part of a fast-growing team to address new control requirements in decarbonization and data center cooling.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain control software for chillers and air handling units utilized in data centers, large facilities, and industrial contexts.
- Create reliable, maintainable, and testable software code in MATLAB/Simulink while employing model-based design methodologies for embedded systems.
- Use control theory and engineering fundamentals (modeling, simulation, statistical methods, data acquisition) to develop effective, efficient controllers.
- Utilize data-driven modeling and machine learning techniques to analyze testing data and construct plant models for complex systems.
- Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to gather comprehensive system software requirements and spearhead the development of new chiller and HVAC products.
