Requirements

Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. - I have over 5 years of experience in building automation controls engineering, programming, and commissioning. - I possess experience in integrating low voltage building sub-systems utilizing industry-standard protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.). - I have a background in engineering and implementing central utility plant control sequences and have led plant automation startups and commissioning in live operating critical facilities for at least five projects. - I have project management skills and experience. - I am willing to travel up to 50%, which may include some international travel.

Responsibilities

- I will assess central plants to prepare drawings and written scopes of work for new sensors, meters, and controls recommissioning to ensure they are CUP-Ready”. - I am responsible for creating and executing integration test plans to ensure a proper bidirectional flow of data and commands between CPO and the plant automation system, in collaboration with the controls service contractor. - I will oversee point mapping and programming of the local plant automation system to ensure a smooth transfer between operating modes. - I will validate system functionality, analyze command dispatch results, and troubleshoot issues throughout the commissioning process. - I will develop strong relationships with customers by leading regular progress meetings and training plant operators to gain their confidence in following the CUP commands.

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Controls System Engineer to lead system integration and commissioning for the OpenBlue Central Utility Plant (CUP) solution for district energy plants on a global scale. This remote opportunity is preferably for candidates based in the southwestern region of the US.
