Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, ideally in the Chiller Technology sector.
- A solid comprehension of refrigeration systems and the associated equipment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for factory visits, customer site visits, and training-related field visits.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to field sales teams on the application and installation of Chiller Solutions equipment in HVAC systems.
- Offer advice on system applications, develop creative solutions for specific customer needs, and leverage competitive insights to create advantages.
- Collaborate in the creation of tools and documentation to facilitate field sales and automate responses to common inquiries.
- Utilize in-house engineering systems and documentation proficiently to answer product-related questions.
- Assist and advise sales teams in overcoming equipment, job, or code challenges.
- Maintain effective communication and follow-up with sales personnel, design engineers, and product management teams to ensure clear understanding of customer requirements is established.
- Gather supplier quotes to convey costs and lead times for special product requests.
- Participate in product team meetings to strategize and execute business development initiatives.
- Design and deliver segments of sales training programs, including on-site sessions and visits to field offices to meet specific training needs.
- Mentor and support other Application Engineers, Product Marketing staff, Sales Engineers, and Sales Agents.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products (both JCI and competitors), market conditions, industry trends, technologies, and their impacts on the business.
Description
At Johnson Controls, we are excited to offer a position for a Principal Application Engineer within our Applied Equipment Engineering team, preferably located in New Freedom, PA, or San Antonio, TX. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the sales of Chiller products via our JCI HVAC System Branches and in collaboration with our sales and marketing team in export markets. The impact of this position is significant in the success of our Chiller Solutions business. Our ideal candidate must be open to relocating if they are not within commuting distance of New Freedom, PA or San Antonio, TX. We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000, which will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, location, and market alignment. Additionally, this position comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
