Requirements
Must:
- At least seven years of experience in the field or an associate degree in a related technical area with equivalent work experience
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering is preferred, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive understanding of the construction or HVAC sectors
- Proficient knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and related building subsystems
- Proven experience integrating low voltage building subsystems utilizing various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BacNet)
- Capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Advanced computer skills are essential, particularly in drafting software
Responsibilities
- Design and configure complex building control systems based on contract specifications
- Develop flow diagrams, operational sequences, bills of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics as necessary
- Create and test software programs to fulfill project requirements
- Coordinate the compilation of drawings and equipment schedules for project submissions and implementation
- Select, order, and monitor the delivery of materials for assigned tasks; ensure compliance with project timelines
- Assist in loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers as needed
- Validate full system functionality, troubleshooting issues with subcontractors and other trades to ensure optimal operations
- Provide the project team with field change information for the creation of as-built documents and software
- Keep management and clients updated on project progress and challenges
- Conduct site-specific training for end users on the complete building control system
- Engage in release meetings with project teams and perform value engineering to achieve cost-effective outcomes while ensuring client satisfaction
- Adhere to safety protocols, prioritizing the well-being of employees and subcontractors
