Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, business, or a related field
- MBA or similar graduate degree preferred
- At least five years of experience in development engineering or managing building-related systems or services
- Experience overseeing teams of 7-10 individuals
- Registered Professional Engineer, MBA, or advanced engineering degree highly recommended
- Mastery of at least 50 facility improvement measures (FIMs)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a technical team across multiple projects
- Strong process orientation and development capabilities
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Experience in recruiting and mentoring team members
- Knowledge of facility operations and cost accounting is advantageous
- Excellent business analysis skills
- Strong project management skills required
- Proficiency in formal report writing and exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Solid knowledge of standard computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%
Responsibilities
- Manage and guide an assigned development team to achieve high utilization
- Review the quality and compliance of solutions prepared by the team with company policies and procedures
- Oversee the teamβs technical and functional expertise including presentations, estimating, and financial analysis
- Implement standardized tools and processes while tracking various performance metrics
- Offer industry insights and best practices to the team, directing them to maintain competitive advantages
- Communicate field and customer feedback to leadership for new offerings and enhancements
- Allocate workloads effectively within the team and provide support during peak periods
- Attract, retain, and develop team members while aligning their objectives with departmental goals
- Provide regular performance feedback and conduct annual appraisals
- Represent Johnson Controls in local community and state organizations
- Stay updated with engineering standards and best practices
- Promote safety policies and ensure team adherence
- Perform other related duties as required
