Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10–15+ years of experience in HVAC, AHU, or similar engineered products.
- Proven track record in leading engineering teams and executing complex product development projects.
- Extensive technical knowledge in air handling systems, ventilation, airflow dynamics, heat transfer, and HVAC component integration.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools, CFD/FEA analysis, and product validation testing.
- Demonstrated capability to manage budgets, timelines, and engineering performance metrics.
- Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Masters degree in Engineering or Engineering Management (preferred).
- Experience with modular AHU construction, custom AHU design, or large-scale commercial/industrial HVAC systems (preferred).
- Background in manufacturing settings involving sheet metal fabrication, coils, fans, and controls (preferred).
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering design for Air Handling Units, focusing on airflow systems, heat exchangers, fan systems, structural frames, controls integration, and product options.
- Drive the development of new AHU platforms and enhancements for current product lines, ensuring performance competitiveness, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Establish and uphold engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices across mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of engineering documentation, including design rules, calculators, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and essential design attributes.
- Oversee large-scale product development initiatives from conceptualization to launch, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Implement stage-gate procedures, risk management frameworks, and engineering governance protocols.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, product management, and operations for effective product introduction and lifecycle support.
- Initiate continuous improvement strategies focused on product performance, cost efficiency, and engineering effectiveness.
- Manage and cultivate a multidisciplinary engineering team across mechanical, electrical, controls, test, and documentation engineering disciplines.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence within the team.
- Supervise resource allocation, organizational structure, and talent development to meet present and future product requirements.
- Promote collaboration among global engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Partner with product management to establish AHU product roadmaps, technology guidelines, and long-term innovation focuses.
- Convert market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights into actionable engineering directives.
- Support SIOP processes, cost-reduction strategies, and strategic sourcing decisions.
- Represent engineering in executive reviews, customer interactions, and strategic planning meetings.

This position oversees a diverse engineering team tasked with designing, validating, and launching top-tier air handling solutions that comply with performance, efficiency, safety, and regulatory standards.
