Requirements

Must:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - Over 10 years of advanced experience in controls and automation engineering - In-depth knowledge of BMS/BAS platforms, PLC/DDC controller architectures, and supervisory control systems - Strong understanding of control theory in relation to multi-variable thermal systems, such as chiller plant optimization, cooling tower sequencing, liquid cooling loop regulation, and airside economization

Responsibilities

- Develop a 3 to 5-year controls architecture roadmap for our data center business, covering BMS/BAS platforms, edge controllers, cloud-native systems, and AI/ML operations - Assess new paradigms like digital twins and model-predictive controls to determine their integration into our product portfolio - Provide expert technical guidance on controls integration across the entire data center thermal chain - Design comprehensive control strategies from rack-level power sensing to cloud-based analytics - Drive innovation in controls algorithms and sensor fusion techniques for cooling infrastructure - Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for next-gen control strategies and dynamic power optimization - Explore external technology partnerships and research initiatives relevant to controls and automation - Act as the senior technical advisor for product management and engineering teams on controls for data center projects - Collaborate with product engineering teams to align controls strategies with thermal equipment - Engage with data center operators and engineering teams as a trusted technical advisor during solution design - Mentor engineers in the controls engineering organization, fostering technical growth and innovation - Facilitate internal forums and design reviews to enhance controls engineering standards - Assist in recruiting top talent in controls engineering to join our team

This is a senior individual contributor role where you will act as a leading technical authority on controls and building automation systems.
