Requirements

Must:
- Completion of a vocational program or equivalent experience in Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or a similar field - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in automation, controls, industrial systems, or manufacturing - Practical experience with PLCs, robotics, HMIs, control networks, vision systems, industrial sensors, and associated software - Entry-level qualification assessment required - Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to task completion - Understanding of Lean methodologies and data-driven decision-making - Capability to read electrical schematics, machine documentation, and technical drawings - Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively across all facility levels - Comfortable working independently in a dynamic manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

- Facilitate the implementation of automation and control projects at ACE to meet Industry 4.0 goals - Manage daily automation and manufacturing system processes, ensuring equipment performance, effective data collection, and successful automation rollout - Collaborate closely with Automation & Controls Project Lead, Engineers, Operational Excellence teams, Plant Engineering, and cross-functional allies to achieve improvements within designated timelines and budgets - Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot automation solutions on the shop floor - Execute daily automation tasks that align with production operations - Implement equipment upgrades, modifications, and data collection methods based on site priorities - Monitor the efficiency of machinery and tools, investigating issues and initiating corrective measures - Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotic systems, and other connected equipment for optimal operational functionality - Support the integration of machinery into broader plant systems and networks - Coordinate maintenance schedules for critical production machinery to minimize downtime - Oversee on-site contractor work, including scheduling and supervision - Assist in the sites transition towards Industry 4.0 through the implementation of connected systems and real-time monitoring solutions - Contribute to pilot initiatives involving AI-driven manufacturing optimization and digital work instructions - Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects - Keep system documentation updated and maintain accurate records of control systems - Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure alignment with technology deployment strategies - Foster an inclusive and safety-oriented workplace culture
