Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 7 years practical technical support/engineering experience in MSP or enterprise environments
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues across endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud services
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
- Windows Server 2016–2025 (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, file/print services, Remote Desktop Services)
- Virtualization technologies such as VMware (7+) and/or Hyper-V
- Networking basics including IPv4/IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs
- Hands-on experience with enterprise hardware from HP, Dell, and Cisco, including FortiGate and SonicWall firewalls
- Familiarity with Linux (CentOS, Rocky) and macOS
- Understanding of general PC hardware/software principles and imaging
- Exceptional customer service, written communication, and professionalism on calls
- Strong ticketing/ITSM documentation practices
- Eagerness to learn quickly and independently; reliable and self-motivated
- Preferred certifications include MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ (or equivalent)
- An Associates degree in technology or equivalent experience is required
Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for end-user computer, server, network, and cloud-related issues
- Identify and resolve intricate incidents involving Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016–2025, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Offer remote assistance and occasional on-site support; participate in a limited on-call rotation as necessary
- Manage and troubleshoot services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, Microsoft Exchange, and O365/Azure
- Configure, monitor, and maintain hardware including switches, firewalls, and servers (FortiNet, HP, Dell, Cisco, SonicWall)
- Support IP networking (both IPv4 and IPv6), routing, switching, VPNs, and network security solutions (AV, EDR/MDR, Zero Trust)
- Assist with content and email security filtering, and other technologies like VOIP systems
- Clearly document troubleshooting procedures, root causes, and solutions within the ticketing system
- Create and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base entries
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams, providing mentorship and knowledge transfer
- Participate in efforts for continuous improvement, proactive maintenance, and implementation of projects as assigned
Description
We are a local technology services provider based in Brentwood, TN, looking for a skilled Technical Support Engineer to enhance our customer support for end-user computing, server, networking, and cloud environments. Our ideal candidate is a practical problem solver possessing strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, and networking, combined with exceptional customer service skills. We offer a full-time position with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, and potential for after-hours work. We provide an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) allowance for healthcare benefits, including health and dental insurance, alongside up to 15 days of paid time off per year. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $110,000 annually, influenced by experience and performance.
