Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Over 5 years of experience in software development utilizing Java, C++, and/or C#.
- Strong foundation in software principles, including algorithms and data structures.
- Familiarity with contemporary software development methodologies and project management tools (e.g., GitLab).
- Knowledge of source control practices and configuration management.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leading software development initiatives encompassing planning, execution, and delivery within defined parameters.
- Capability to operate within government frameworks and provide leadership in diverse environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Must possess an interim Secret level security clearance by start date and be eligible to achieve a Top Secret clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Lead a development team to explore and create software solutions for maritime systems.
- Engage in software engineering tasks such as defining requirements, designing network architecture, implementing object-oriented designs, and conducting agile development along with integration and field testing.
- Oversee and conduct software deployments both at our facility and on-site with clients, ensuring excellence and successful outcomes, which may include opportunities to support U.S. Navy ship trials and crew training.
- Innovate and propose new ways to utilize modern technologies to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of naval systems.
- Record software development processes and testing outcomes; prepare and conduct regular design review meetings, technical reports, and presentations for various stakeholders including government representatives.
