Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in Information Technology (IT).
- A minimum of 5 years in performing security systems analysis and monitoring within an enterprise environment.
- At least 3 years of experience administering enterprise security tools, including ESS and ACAS, in an organization with a minimum of 100 devices.
- Proficiency in both Windows and RHEL Operating Systems.
- Expertise in evaluating security controls based on cybersecurity principles and guidelines.
- A deep understanding of Host-based Security Systems, Device Control Solutions, Network Access Control (802.1x), and Security tool implementations.
- Experience conducting packet capture (PCAP) analysis.
- Background in implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for device hardening, with additional experience in automating STIGs for specified environments.
- Familiarity with incident response processes and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively in a complex environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of collaborating within a team with minimal guidance.
- Holding DISA ESS 201 & 301 Administrator certifications, as well as DISA ACAS Operator and Supervisor certifications. Additionally, candidates may be required to obtain ACEM Operations and Security Essentials and FCSA Comply to Connect (C2C) certifications within six months of hire.
- A current industry certification aligned with DoD Manual 8570, 01-M for IAT II (e.g., GSEC, Security+, CCNA-Security).
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to all levels of management and staff.
- An active Top Secret security clearance is required. If selected, candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information, including U.S. citizenship.
You will stand out if you also possess:
- Experience maintaining and operating ForeScout CounterAct or other Comply-to-Connect solutions.
- Hands-on experience and expertise in networking, network security, VMware, enterprise storage, server operations, data center services, and other advanced technologies.
- Knowledge of utilizing Splunk to develop custom queries for analyzing and addressing anomalies.
- An industry certification aligned with DoD Manual 8140, 01-M for CSSP roles (e.g., CEH, GCIH, CISSP).
Responsibilities
As a Senior Systems Security Administrator (SSA), your role will involve:
- Analyzing data to enhance the security posture of our networks and identifying operational challenges.
- Assessing the effectiveness of our current security systems and recommending improvements when necessary.
- Developing a framework to evaluate and enhance existing controls and processes related to the security system.
- Facilitating the installation and maintenance of the ESS/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) suite and its modules per DoD-mandated standards. Supporting the implementation and upkeep of application whitelisting via the Trellix SolidCore module.
- Monitoring logs and overseeing both authorized and unauthorized removable devices and media within the network.
- Keeping an eye on alerts related to VPN Gateways or Firewalls for unexpected traffic that could signal a potential compromise.
- Partnering with audit analysts to supervise policy changes, privileged user activities, and data transfers to ensure ongoing policy enforcement.
- Planning, communicating, and coordinating the administration of Computer Network Defense (CND) tools to meet requirements from various sources like Security Operations, DoD compliance/inspection readiness, Cyber Security Services Provider (CSSP), and end-users.
- Supporting the Vulnerability Management Team to ensure that the ACAS security architecture, design, and implementation adhere to DoD regulations and relevant governing documents.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education, training, and skill level, alongside consideration for internal parity. For employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salaries will be prorated according to hours worked. We may offer bonuses or other compensation forms per internal policy and/or contractual obligations. Additional compensation could include a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
